New Years 2009....14 hours in the future...

Hello hello,

Greetings from busan!

As we write this we are sitting with our humble hosts nick and nicole enjoying a beverage before we depart for our night. While we have internet access available we will try to post as frequent as possible.

Due to the time change we will be half in the bag and fully in the bed before the clock has a chance to strike midnight back home, so we want to wish everyone a happy new year from the future.

We'll let you know how 2009 is and if its worth the bubbly or not.

Love you all

Seoul Searching...

After a rather arduous trip across two continents and one large ocean, we have arrived at our destination of Pusan, Korea.  Nick and Nicole have kindly taken us in, we even have our own apartment here in Pusan and we are settling in juuuust fine.

Pusan (a.k.a Busan) is the second largest city in Korea, a port city which is famous for it's seafood, thriving fish market and beautiful scenic beaches.  Though don't be jealous of our beach experience yet, it is too cold here to swim...between 8-14 degrees during the day.

More to come.

Sleep first, blog later.

Missing everyone at home, but already enthralled with Korean culture.

The Parting Glass

If I am posting on a Friday night then something must be up.

I am actually enjoying the remaining hours of the food coma that has perpetuated since about 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and enjoying the remaining hours of ultimate comfort. That is, I am no more comfortable than in my own bed, in my room at good ol' 130 Howard Park. After being convinced that, by this point, my family would have torn one another apart all living AND working together 24/7 - I am not unhappy to say that I feel closer to my family than I have in a long time. Mostly because we have clearly reached a level of adulthood and are able to actively enjoy one another's company (despite the odd nag here and there). This too is a great comfort to me, and having a full house for the first time in years has been wonderful...at least on my end.

So, the point is, I am not unhappy to be writing our first blog entry on a Friday night. After all, it will be many nights until I enjoy this level of comfort and security again.

Luckily, I am readily awaiting our departure because at this juncture in my life...I prefer adventure to comforts. It helps that Jay will be with me, I am probably not as nervous as I would be if I were going alone, as originally planned. I feel that having two competent minds as opposed to one is of great advantage for those rare moments when I seem to lose my competent mind
.

The next two days are going to be busy, so many little things to accomplish. This means, before I know it, I will be sitting on a plane to South Korea!

In the mean time, I will enjoy these comforts and soak up all the toronto love.
